While you may want to explore the world and show your family everything this earth has to offer, these destinations are not ideal for travel. From safety concerns to political unrest, these cities are not tourist-friendly. Cross these places off your travel list and stick to those that are a little bit safer. Maybe one day you will be able to visit these spots but that is not today!

Khartoum, Sudan

Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, is one of those places you better avoid. With people declaring that “The bombings are a background noise,’ it’s evident that travelers should reconsider their trip to this place. A massive war started back in 2023, and since then, the locals have only seen misery and destruction. People rely on each other for food and other basic needs, yet the situation worsens.

Bamako, Mali

Mali is one of the most dangerous countries in Africa and the world. For instance, just a few months ago, thirteen civilians, including seven children, lost their lives in a Drone strike in Amasrakad, in the Gao region. The country’s capital, Bamako, remains unsafe, and all travelers should reconsider their visit to this country. Nearby places, such as Senegal and Mauritania, are way safer at the moment.

Aleppo, Syria

No need to explain why Syria is not the ideal destination for a family trip. The country is experiencing an intense humanitarian crisis, with plenty of people living in extreme poverty. Local police are constantly arbitrarily arresting and torturing whoever disagrees with the current government, and even though cities such as Aleppo and Damascus were once considered among the most advanced in the world, little remains today of that ancient beauty.

Armed cops have been killing plenty of civilians in recent months, making the capital of the country, Niamey, a highly dangerous destination for all tourists.

On top of this, women here are often experiencing violations of basic rights. Back in 2022, the death of Mahsa Amini gave rise to demonstrations all over the country.
